Nomaduma Rosa Masilela

is an artist, writer, and curator engaged in collective work and strategy; ludic play; the related and respective ephemera of exile and xenophobia; ideas of the uncanny, the absurd, and the dissonant; and the ambivalent natures of authenticity, history and identity production, particularly from African and diasporic perspectives. 

organizes these ideas in prints, publications, objects, gatherings, exhibitions, site specific interventions, and long-term research projects.

was born in Bochum, raised between Łódź and Los Angeles, educated in New York and Dakar, based in Berlin, and dreaming of Johannesburg.
